Responsibilities

An Account Director is a senior member of the Client Services Management team responsible for the direction and execution of the client plan in key account(s). They understand their client and are able to articulate the client's request and ensure the team provide high quality outputs leading to account stability and growth. They are responsible for the financial management of the account(s) and delivering against revenue targets.

 

The Client Services team partner with our Medical Writing team and are responsible for the delivery of projects for our clients. The Account Management team work with available in-house expertise such as our creative team but also with third-party suppliers, and provide appropriate direction, ensuring projects exceed client expectations and are delivered to budget. 

 

An Account Director at Lucid is responsible for: 

  • Providing insights to inform and shape the development of the client strategic plan as well as leading understanding throughout their team
  • Building effective internal partnerships with other capabilities to successfully deliver the account plan (medical, project management, creative, strategy, etc)
  • Execution of the client account plan
  • Account team management and performance
  • Financial management and forecast accuracy at account(s) level
  • Building and maintaining positive and enduring client relationships across multiple levels
  • Being a client business partner and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of client business
  • Account performance, recovery and delivering against revenue targets
  • Representing the client internally
  • Developing strong working relationships with our clients, being an established point of contact and being recognised as a strategic partner
  • Managing and helping deliver multiple projects, leading teams where appropriate, including after project review meetings highlighting excellence and areas of improvement
  • Mentoring team members to enable personal development
  • Empowering the team, ensuring things are done well and consistently 
  • Highlighting key issues and resolving them quickly 
  • Building broad networks, developing pitches and contributing to incremental business 
  • Building innovative programmes and content 
  • Establishing optimal ways of working 
  • Setting standards for the team
  • Ensuring that we exceed all clients’ expectations

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have: 

 

Essential skills:  

 

  • Experience within a senior account management, partnership focused role
  • Experienced in coaching, mentoring or managing others 
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment
  • Experience in building strong client partnerships
  • Experience problem solving and providing solutions

 

Desirable skills: 

 

  • Experience within the medcomms/healthcare industry
  • Experience in creating innovative strategic programs for clients
  • Life Science degree
  • Demonstrable experience delivering excellent projects for clients, on time and on budget 
  • Experience in delivering presentations and leading client pitches

During our interview process you will typically have a first stage Teams call with the manager for the role that focuses on your experience, getting to know each other and understanding what you are looking for with your next career move.

 

Our final stage includes an interview, either virtually or in-person, where you will meet with a couple more individuals from across our teams, plus complete a task ahead of meeting with the team that is related to the role you have applied for e.g. a case study, or a writing exercise.

 

We then hope to get back to you with an outcome within a few days of your interview! The Talent Acquisition team are on hand throughout your whole interview process for any questions that may arise.
