Asset Strategy Director


Job purpose

 

To work with senior biopharma clients throughout the product lifecycle to
develop strategic, fit-for-purpose solutions at the asset, portfolio, and corporate
level. From early asset evaluations to go-to-market strategy development and
life-cycle optimisation, you will help clients to set the direction of and align the
organisation, to transform ideas into action.

Responsibilities

Key accountabilities

  • Lead the growth of key accounts and the delivery of £1-3 million of Asset Strategy revenue
  • Build valued partnerships with executive-level leaders in pharma resulting in sustained revenue
    growth for Lucid
  • Proactively identify opportunities for asset or portfolio optimisation, within and across discrete
    projects, and effectively engage pharma leaders to deliver value to them and to Lucid
  • Lead the design, management and delivery of strategically and operationally complex projects
    with confidence, guiding both senior clients and Lucid team to a high value deliverable
  • Lead and inform the development of asset and portfolio strategy, and cross-functional planning at
    different stages of the asset lifecycle
  • Inform the development of corporate strategy, providing direction for asset acquisition,
    development and portfolio prioritisation
  • Design and facilitate effective collaboration across pharma functions, geographies and
    stakeholders to drive alignment on asset, portfolio and corporate strategy
  • Provide consultancy to clients across all aspects of asset, portfolio and corporate strategy, and on
    the effective collaboration and alignment of internal and external stakeholders to key decisions
  • Lead the design and development of high-standard, consultancy outputs which benchmark Lucid
    as a competitor in the Strategy Consulting space
  • Develop and exercise professional network to identify and win new Asset Strategy partnerships and
    contribute to new growth
  • Collaborate effectively with business and client leads across Lucid Group to drive new
    opportunities for Asset Strategy, and for broader Group capabilities
  • Provide strategic counsel on client development plans, client briefs and RFPs, clarifying the
    opportunity and identifying the necessary capabilities from across the Group
  • Provide insight and recommendations informing capability and service enhancements to drive
    competitive advantage relating to Asset Strategy and beyond
  • Lead and contribute to the development of new Asset Strategy products and methodologies
  • Lead awareness and understanding of Asset Strategy across Group
  • Coach and develop strategic thinking, asset strategy knowledge and consultative partnership
    approaches across Group
  • Contribute to Lucid marketing including via industry thought leadership
  • Line management of Asset Strategy team members, as required

Qualifications

Key experience and skills

  • Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, inhouse or consultancy, with a proven track
    record of shaping successful strategies for assets and/or portfolios
  • Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry including trends, key environmental
    influences, pharma function responsibilities across the asset lifecycle, service provider offerings and
    innovations
  • Understanding of the healthcare landscape including healthcare innovations and trends, key
    Global policy implications, and knowledge of factors impacting medicines availability incl.
    regulatory, access and pricing considerations across key markets
  • Expert working knowledge of the asset lifecycle, and the strategic priorities and key processes
    governing the development and commercialisation of an asset
  • Understanding and experience of the varying models of corporate portfolio development
  • Significant experience in cross-functional launch excellence and planning at the Global level
  • Expertise in facilitation, expert in reading the room and effectively engaging diverse stakeholder
    groups, including external experts, while providing an expert point of view, where appropriate
  • Communicate with clarity, impact and gravitas across all media, aligning and influencing
    effectively in every interaction, building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Confident in ability to lead complex projects and tasks where definition, structure and process is
    undetermined, applying previous experience and seeking additional knowledge and skills as
    required
  • Well-developed organic growth and new business development skills
  • Ability to deliver high impact outputs suitable for senior stakeholder engagement and distribution


Desirable experience and skills

  • Strong experience of leading the design and evolution of complex operational processes
    associated with asset /portfolio development, commercialisation and management
  • Experience in communications strategy and communications programme design
  • Experience of market access strategy and activation
  • Experience in commercialisation of biosimilars and generics
  • Expertise in / knowledge of the evolving technologies being adopted across the industry and
    across healthcare
  • In-market launch / commercialisation experience e.g. US or UK market
  • Expertise in organisational strategy consulting
